Settling In

Arthur and I strolled over to our neighborhood market this morning. We ran into a woman we had seen twice before and this time we started chatting. She is new here, too. We had the same conversation I've had dozens of times already, why we're here, where we lived previously, how many kids and what school they attend. And then, we talked about the neighborhood. I told her I wanted to join the neighborhood association so she walked me over to the community center where we walked in on half a dozen women dancing. It was such a nice surprise. They were preparing for an upcoming neighborhood festival. It looks like I picked a good time to join the association and, hopefully, get to know some neighbors and have a sense of community.

Unfortunately, no photos of the dancing ladies, but this one from yesterday is just super sweet.

  1. I'm getting more culture and history from your blog than from anywhere else these days (kinda sad isn't it) Miss you!
